PLAYER BIO

Conor Mitchell’s football journey has been one defined by perseverance, professionalism, and a deep passion for the game. Born in Portrush in May 1996, the Northern Irish goalkeeper began his career across the water with Premier League side Burnley, where he spent several formative years developing within a top-tier environment. Although first-team opportunities at Turf Moor were limited, Conor gained valuable experience through loan spells with clubs including Chester, St Johnstone, and Linfield—exposing him to both English and Scottish football and sharpening his skills at senior level.

After leaving Burnley in 2019, Conor returned home to Northern Ireland to continue his career in the Irish League, signing with Larne before going on to represent Warrenpoint Town and Dungannon Swifts. Throughout each move, he remained a reliable and composed figure between the posts, building a reputation as a goalkeeper who reads the game well and remains calm under pressure. In 2025, Conor made the switch to H&W Welders FC, bringing with him a wealth of experience and leadership. Since joining the club, he has become a steady presence in goal, helping to marshal the defence and contributing to the team’s strong performances throughout pre-season. His shot-stopping ability, distribution, and communication have already made a noticeable impact at the club.

Now entering the prime of his career, Conor Mitchell’s presence at Blanchflower Park adds both quality and character to the Welders squad. As the club pushes forward with ambition, Conor’s experience and calm authority will no doubt continue to be a vital asset throughout the season ahead.
